Welcome back to the Matchside weekly roundup!

What a week for British sport. Arthur Fery's Wimbledon fairytale continues, with the wildcard into the quarter-finals and a shot at getting through to a maiden Grand Slam semi-final on Wednesday. England put in a heroic effort in Mexico, playing over 40 minutes with ten men to beat Mexico 3-2 to reach the quarter-finals against Norway. And there was heartbreak for the England women's cricketers, beaten by Australia in the T20 World Cup final at Lord's on Sunday. Plenty happening on the sofa this week, but even more happening in London, so let's get into it.

👀 What's on this week 👀

🎾 Wimbledon, which I covered in last week's email, is still the headline act, running through to Sunday 12th July. Quick ticket update: we're into the business end now, with the quarter-finals underway from tomorrow. It's normally easier to do The Queue and grab a grounds pass at this stage than in the opening week, and once you're through the gates, show court tickets often pop up on the official resale app throughout the day. Full options in this ticket guide.

And for the new events happening over the next week:

1. 🏏 Women's Test Cricket: England vs India (Friday 10th to Monday 13th July)

📍 Lord's | Tickets from £20

A genuinely historic one: the first ever women's Test at Lord's, exactly 50 years since Rachael Heyhoe Flint first led out an England Women's team there. Over 30,000 tickets have already been sold across the four days, a new UK record for a women's Test, so expect a proper occasion.

2. 🏏 Vitality T20 Blast

Surrey Double Header, Wednesday 8th July (2.15pm Women vs Warwickshire Bears, 6.30pm Men vs Sussex Sharks)
📍 The Oval | Tickets from £33

Middlesex vs Sussex Sharks, Friday 10th July (5pm)
📍 Merchant Taylors' School, Northwood | Tickets £24

Surrey Double Header, Sunday 12th July (2.30pm Women vs Hampshire Hawks, 6.30pm Men vs Essex)
📍 The Oval | Tickets from £33

🚗 Easy day trips from London 🚗

1. 🏇 Cowdray Gold Cup Polo

Quarter-Finals, Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July
📍 Cowdray Park Polo Club, Midhurst | Tickets from £21

Semi-Finals, Wednesday 15th July
📍 Cowdray Park Polo Club, Midhurst | Tickets from £38

Europe's premier polo tournament, set against the ruins of Cowdray Castle in the South Downs. It's about 1hr30 from London by car, or train to Haslemere plus a short taxi, and a great day out full of British tradition if you've never been.

2. 🏉 Rugby League: London Broncos vs Doncaster RLFC (Saturday 11th July, 6pm)

📍 Kuflink Stadium, Ebbsfleet | Tickets £18

Another home game out at Ebbsfleet rather than in London itself, but still a Broncos home fixture if you fancy the trip.
